History Sticks

This is a mystery cache that we completed in Charleston, SC on March 27 & 28, 2008. To find the cache, we had visit up to twenty-five sites in and around Charleston that were listed on a modified Battleship game board. At each site, there was a question that was either true or false, depending on our location, with each true being a "hit," each false a "miss." The object was to find three PT boats (2 squares each) on the 5x5 grid, then find the final cache based on a formula involving those six "hits." Here is the actual cache with more details.

We visited 16 of the sites, getting only 3 hits and 12 misses (one was under renovation), but were able to figure out the coordinates from that point. Below is a map of our hunt, with white representing the "misses," red the "hits," maroon the "assumed hits" based on the gameboard, and purple the location of the actual cache. The blue markers represent sites we did not visit for this particular cache, however some have locations in the descriptions because we visited them later during our time in Charleston.
